When I was in my teens, I made a promise to myself that I
would read to my unborn child. It was my dream that my baby would be a bookworm
like myself.
When I found out I was pregnant, I did a search for my
childhood books. I still had my two favourite books – “Love You Forever” and “Mortimer”
both by Robert Munsch. I also found “Clifford saves the circus” by Norman
Bridwell.
I read those books daily to my Princess but soon got tired
of them. I decided to start building her library by purchasing a book a
month. Here’s what I’ve bought so far:
I’m looking forward to reading to her once she arrives and
spending endless hours at the library with her when she gets older.
“You’re never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book
and read to a child”
~Dr. Seuss~
What are some of your favourite childhood books?
